Job Description: We are seeking a Group Bid Manager to lead our bid strategy and secure new business opportunities. This is a high-profile role where you will combine commercial insight, project management, and collaboration to create winning proposals that showcase the full range of our group's services. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver bids that align with strategic objectives and our sustainability commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full bid lifecycle, from initial qualification through to submission and post-bid review.
- Sell and promote the group's services, positioning Gregory Distribution as the partner of choice for logistics and transport solutions.
- Present to prospective and current customers, promoting Gregory Distribution's services and our sustainability-driven solutions.
- Create persuasive, complaint, and customer-focused proposals, aligned with tender requirements and sustainability objectives.
- Develop strong partnerships with businesses, understanding their needs and creating tailored proposals that deliver value.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all bids are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
- Collaborate across all functions within the group, including operations, commercial, finance, and marketing, to gather insights and create compelling proposals.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external clients, building trust and ensuring clarity throughout the process.
- Deliver rate reviews and pricing strategies, ensuring competitive and profitable outcomes while considering efficiency and environmental impact. Create persuasive, compliant, and customer-focused proposals, aligned with tender requirements and strategic objectives.
- Maintain and update a bid library, champion best practices, and continuously improve processes and content.
- Analyse tender activity, produce monthly reports, and recommend improvements to strengthen our approach.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and work with other areas of the group to bring them to fruition.
Required Experience:
- Proven expertise in managing bids within the warehousing, transport, or logistics sectors.
- Demonstrated success in designing and delivering winning bid strategies that drive business growth.
- Ability to lead and coordinate multiple complex bids simultaneously, managing diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and influence decision-makers.
- Highly organised and process-driven, with strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Confident in building relationships and collaborating across all levels of the organisation.
