Applications are invited for the position of Senior Clinical Fellow at East Lancashire Teaching Hospital. ELHT is a busy teaching hospital with around 700 beds across all sites.Services are provided from two main sites, the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital and Burnley General Teaching Hospital. Acute services are based at the Blackburn site and include the emergency department, the 32 bedded Critical Care Unit and the acute surgical and medical units. The ED is a trauma unit in the Lancashire Trauma network with Preston as the Trauma Centre.

We have a busy 32 bed critical care unit that cares for 1600 patients per year. We take medical and surgical emergency patients and postoperative elective patients requiring a higher level of care. There is excellent opportunity to gain experience in caring for critically ill patients and the practical techniques pertinent to this.

Whilst a non-training grade you would be considered as a trainee with appropriate teaching and educational support.You would be part of the Critical Care rota, which includes on calls and you will be expected to take part in formal handover, audit/ QI and lunchtime trainee presentations. Your clinical commitment will be to Critical Care and the remaining time can be focused on your personal progression such as FICE/ FUSIC accreditation, teaching or quality improvement work etc.
