Summary


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic finance professional to join our Senior Finance Leadership team as Associate Director of Finance – Financial Services & Governance.This is a pivotal role within the organisation, providing strategic financial leadership, robust governance oversight, and ensuring strong financial stewardship across the Trust.

You will play a leading role to ensure the on-going financial viability of the Trust and advising on corrective measures to maintain a strong financial risk rating.



You will work closely with finance and operational colleagues, project groups and other partner organisations, including other NHS organisations to ensure the provision of efficient and effective financial/activity information.

You will be responsible for leading the provision of financial support to the Trust, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, professional accounting standards, internal controls, and the achievement of the Trust's financial targets.

Leading the Financial Services team, you will also occasionally act as deputy for the Deputy Chief Finance Officer on financial matters in their absence and represent the Chief Financial Officer on some occasions.

As a senior finance professional, you will also support one or more of the Trust contracts, being responsible for leading the financial negotiations, monitoring and review.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will includemandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.



Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).



High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 per annum (pro rata for part time).
