Summary

Actual Annual Salary:  £28,859 - £31,111 - based on full time, all year round.
Vacancy 1 - £6,678 - £7,200 – based on 10 hours per week – term time only + insetsVacancy 2 - £2,671 - £2,880 – based on 4hours per week – term time only + insets
Contract Type: Fixed term until 31 August 2026
Hours: V1 - 10 hours per week – Monday – Friday 1pm-3pm
V2 - 4 hours per week – Tuesday – Thursday 1:15pm – 3:15pm
Potential Start Date: January 2026 – pending completion of pre-employment checks
We have two opportunities to join our teaching team at HVA. We follow a team approach to supporting all pupils to reach their full potential. This is an opportunity for a caring, energetic, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant/Learning Partner to join our dedicated team, providing high-quality support within the classroom to help young people reach their full potential.  
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable individual with strong interpersonal skills, who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The candidate will be passionate about supporting children’s learning and, ideally, will have experience of working with children with SEND.
 About you: 
 You will: 
have an understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and how a teaching assistant supports students in their learning. 
be able to engage students and manage behaviour on a one to one or small group basis. 
be committed to undertake relevant qualifications, e.g. relevant NVQ Level 2/ 3 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent, first aid qualification, to ensure ongoing professional development. 
be able to engage students and manage behaviour on a one to one or small group basis. 
have strong interpersonal skills, in particular with the ability to demonstrate empathy and active listening.  
have good planning and organisational skills, specifically with regard to learning activities and support materials. 
be someone with a keen interest in working with children and commitment to inclusion and acceptance of all.
