Working Hours: Panama/Continental shifts, 24/7 coverage Days & Nights - 6am-6pm/6pm-6am
Salary: £60,000 per annum

Role Purpose:
To provide high-quality engineering support to production operations by maintaining, repairing, and improving plant and equipment. The goal is to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime in a fast-paced biscuit manufacturing environment. This role requires a proactive approach to both planned and reactive maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, hygiene, and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, organize, and develop the shift engineering team to deliver high-quality maintenance and support
- Resolve breakdowns swiftly, plan complex tasks effectively, and provide technical input to aid production decisions
- Maintain accurate documentation, handovers, and records while ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards
- Represent engineering in control meetings, escalate issues appropriately, and manage team absences and returns
- Perform qualified mechanical/electrical tasks and support the ongoing development of team skills.
Main Ingredients for the Role
- Time-served engineer in mechanical or electrical disciplines
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred)
- IOSH certification and food safety/hygiene qualification
- Strong understanding of planned maintenance systems (e.g., Shire)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Clear and confident communicator
- Resilient and adaptable under pressure
- Team-oriented with a proactive mindset
