Crynodeb

Job Purpose: To support the delivery of physical activity initiatives for older people and engage older people in Barnsley to be more active.

Job Summary:
Funded by Barnsley Council and led by Age UK Barnsley, the Barnsley Older People Physical Activity Alliance is an alliance of NHS, public, private and third sector (non-profit) organisations offering physical activity opportunities for over 50s in Barnsley. The Alliance aims to increase provision of physical activity programmes that will improve strength and balance of older people (50+) across Barnsley.

Key Responsibilities:

Acting as a point of contact for our BOPPAA service users and alliance partners

Attending health and wellbeing events and groups to provide information about the BOPPAA

Engaging older people in Barnsley with the BOPPAA and its programmes

Receiving referrals to the BOPPAA, discussing programmes and arranging assessments with those referred into the service

Building relationships with alliance partners to support their delivery of BOPPAA programmes and activities, including through encouraging older people to take up available physical activity opportunities

Monitoring and supporting partners’ adherence to relevant policy guidelines including health and safety, information security, data protection and safeguarding

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of project activities in line with contractual requirements and prepare/present detailed reports on community engagement efforts for senior managers and commissioners.

Recruiting, training and supporting project volunteers

Ensuring suitable procedures are being followed to safeguard the health and safety of volunteers and service users

Dealing with confidential and sensitive information appropriately

Producing documents and email communications

General administrative duties

To carry out the duties of the post in accordance with all AUKB’s policies and procedures including: Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Confidentiality, Complaints, Data protection, Safeguarding Adults at Risk.

Work collaboratively with internal teams to align outreach efforts with organisational goals.
