The St. George's University Hospital Hub operates a 24hr shift system providing cover to a busy A&E and acute services. The Laboratories are equipped with Roche c8000 analysers with P612 pre/post analytics automation for Biochemistry, ACL Top 750 and Beckman Coulter DxH 900 with AutoMate 1200 for pre/post analytics Haematology and coagulation services, as well the Immucor Neo analysers for automated Blood Transfusion services.

We also oversee much of the Hospital Point of Care Testing (POCT) services. We handle the GP and OPD work from the Spoke sites in addition to all the samples within its own catchment area. As a result the department has an approximate workload of 8000-9000 tests per day.
