Barnardo’s, one of the UK’s leading children’s charities, is seeking a talented and driven Corporate Safety Advisor to join our crucial Corporate Safety Team. This is an impactful role where your expertise will directly enable our strategic objectives, ensuring safety is at the forefront of every activity across our diverse operations in the North Region
Your Mission: Expertise, Enablement & Engagement
You will provide multidisciplinary specialist advice and assistance across a multitude of teams and senior managers, acting as a crucial safety partner across the North Region, which covers areas like Cumbria, the North East, Yorkshire, and the North West.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expert Advice: Provide sound, up-to-date advice on health and safety legislation to enable Barnardo's to meet its strategic objectives safely.
- Visibility & Travel: Maintain a flexible approach, being visible within your region up to 3 days a week, meeting customer needs (travel and occasional overnight stays are essential).
- Culture Promotion: Be a valued member of the teams you support, driving and promoting a positive, proactive health and safety culture across the organisation.
- Training Delivery: Design and deliver engaging H&S training, both face-to-face and virtually, for colleagues at all levels.
- Independent Management: Work independently, managing your workload and demonstrating trustworthiness and initiative while providing support via IT systems.
Essential Criteria: Your NEBOSH & IOSH Credentials
We are specifically seeking professionals who meet the following requirements:
- Qualification: Must hold the NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
- Professional Membership: Must hold Certified Status of IOSH and demonstrate a desire (with evidence of working towards) Chartered Status.
- Knowledge Base: Possess a sound and comprehensive knowledge base regarding all relevant health and safety legislation.
- Mobility: Hold a full UK Driving Licence (Company car provided).
- Mindset: Must be a great communicator, highly engaging, and possess a continuous learning mindset.
- Advantageous: Experience working in a similar role within the Health and Social Care sector.
