I’m a 20-year-old male living with my mum, dad, and sister in Chippenham, and I’m looking for a supportive, friendly person to join me in making the most of my time both at home and in the community. I love keeping busy, whether that’s going to the cinema, swimming, playing badminton, bowling, or cheering on my favourite football and rugby teams! Of course, I also enjoy chilling out at home and spending time with people I know and trust.

I’m looking for someone who is caring, flexible, and approachable to help me access the community, take part in the activities I enjoy, and continue developing my life skills. It’s really important to me that you get to know me properly and encourage me to share my preferences and make my own choices. A driving license and access to your own vehicle is preferred, but not essential.

You’ll need to be friendly, reliable, and responsible, with great communication and social skills. Respect for my privacy and sensitivity to my needs is essential, and the ability to take initiative and learn on the job is highly valued. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping a young adult live independently, try new experiences, and have fun while doing it.

If you enjoy supporting someone to explore, socialise, and grow their independence while having a laugh along the way, this could be the perfect role for you.

Duties include:
- Other relevant duties as required
- Companionship

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful

Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.

Please note: If you do not hear back within three weeks of applying, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion.
