Summary
I’m looking for a kind and reliable female personal assistant to provide companionship, personal care and light support to my wife, who has mobility difficulties following a stroke. She uses a tripod stick and a wheelchair.
The role includes attending regular group sessions, supporting with appointments, assisting with personal care needs (including continence care), and accompanying her on outings such as going for coffee or shopping.
Typical Shifts:
Monday: 9:00 am – 10:15 am and 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
– Supporting her to get ready for Seagrove
– Assisting with light housework in the afternoon
Thursday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
– Providing support while she attends group or one-to-one activities at Headways
Saturday, Wednesday, Sunday (Occasional)
– Offering companionship at home while I am out
Other Duties Include:
• Support with appointments
• Light assistance during outings
• Personal care as required
Please note that, due to the nature of my wife’s needs, there may be occasions where work is required outside the usual schedule, such as for hospital appointments. We ask that you are comfortable with this flexibility, and we will always be considerate of your time and availability.
Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR):
Due to the personal and intimate nature of some aspects of the support required, it is a genuine occupational requirement that the personal assistant be female.
Please email your interest in the role to pajobs@lothiancil.org.uk, including the job reference and contact details, and I’ll get back to you soon
