Summary

The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with a Learning Disability and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities.

Introduction:

Grace Eyre Active Lives provides a large range of day activities for people with learning disabilities and/ or autism from our space in Brighton. These activities support people’s creativity, wellbeing, health, learning and development.

Grace Eyre has recently obtained funding to improve the digital skills of the people we support. This funding comes from Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. While this is a pilot project till March 2026, our ambition is to very much to continue to develop and grow our digital offer in the coming months and years.

Brief outline of the role:

Grace Eyre is looking to recruit experienced freelance tutors who are experienced and confident to write, develop and deliver digital skills workshops to people with learning disabilities and/ or autism. The workshops that we will be delivering will cover areas such as covering topics such as using digital skills to book medical appointments, engaging in leisure opportunities, communicating and social media, looking for work and online safety.

The course content to be written by the tutor will be informed by the government’s Essential Digital Skills Framework Tutors will be allocated paid time to write these courses.

You will need a strong background on delivering educational and skills development workshops to students. Experience of delivering these workshops and learning opportunities to people with learning disabilities and/ or autism would be attractive.
