Summary
THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (ED), LEICESTER ROYAL INFIRMARYThe Leicester Royal Infirmary has the only Emergency Department serving the city of Leicester and the counties of Leicestershire and Rutland and is one of the busiest in the country, treating over 230,000 new patients, a quarter of whom are children. The ED incorporates: 12 Resuscitation bays 32 bay Majors area Minors with 10 cubicles Primary Care Stream Separate Paediatric ED with 12 rooms and 8 bays 16 bed Emergency Decisions unit incorporating the Emergency Frailty Unit
