We are excited to offer an opportunity for highly motivated and ambitious individuals to join our Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service (OHWS) via the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Staff Bank at Specialty Doctor Grade.
This role is part of our ongoing efforts to expand clinical capacity and ensure timely, high-quality Occupational Health provision across the organisation.

The main duties and responsibilities of this post include;
• Make an effective contribution to reaching the Trust’s vision and strategic objectives
• Provide clinical leadership to the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team, working alongside other Clinical Leads
• As part of holding a wide variety of clinical cases, you will be required to provide clear and timely advice to managers, employees and People & OD Services, including attendance and input at case conferences
• Provide advice to the organisation on medical assessment of new/existing employees in line with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010, immunisations, statutory medical examinations and clinical assessments for fitness to work, including promotion of health and prevention of ill health
• Contribution to reduction of sickness absence/supporting people back into employment
• Provide guidance on trends and organisational risk factors
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country.
