Summary


Specialist Psychiatrist - Older Adult Psychiatry, Blackpool (10PA)

We are seeking to recruit a Specialist Grade Psychiatrist to work in Older Adult Inpatient Psychiatry based at The Harbour. This post is full time (10 PA) and permanent.

The postholder may be able to contribute to the On Call rota, for which additional remuneration will be paid.

This post will make up a complement of 4.0 WTE senior psychiatrists supporting the four older adult inpatient wards at The Harbour. The post holder will provide medical leadership, in co-production with the ward manager of the governance processes and operations of Austen Ward. The post holder will also lead assessments with the MDT when referrals are made for transfer of service users from adult mental health wards to this unit; this is typically less than one a week.

The post holder will provide senior clinical leadership of care to up to 16 patients shared between female dementia and female advanced care wards (Austen and Bronte).

Applicants must also have Approved Clinician (AC) status/approval and be on the AC Register or be eligible for AC approval (7 years of experience in psychiatry, with more than 1 year of practice after S12(2) approval).

There may be the opportunity for the postholder to join one of the On Call rotas if you hold the necessary qualification and registration. Additional remuneration would be payable for this.
