Summary

Prospero Teaching is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Chemistry Technician to join a high-performing Science Department at a secondary school in Croxley Green, Rickmansworth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about chemistry and laboratory support to contribute to an outstanding learning environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting practical science lessons across Key Stages 35, preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring health and safety standards are upheld. You will be joining a collaborative and experienced Science Department with excellent resources, strong academic results, and a strong culture of teamwork.

The school prides itself on its exceptional science provision, offering engaging practical lessons, STEM opportunities, study clubs, and a popular GCSE and A-Level science pathway. You will also work closely with a team of three technicians who provide vital support to teachers and students.

Full time/part time Full time (37 hours per week)

Salary GBP23,227.61 to GBP24,314.50 per year (incl. fringe)

Hours Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in a laboratory or technician setting (school or industry)

Science qualification(s), ideally chemistry-related

Knowledge of safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals

Understanding of health and safety procedures in a lab environment

Up-to-date safeguarding training (issued within the last year)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered on the update service, or be willing to apply for one

Provide two professional references covering the last 2 years
