Liverpool
Full time Temp to Perm
To start as soon as possible
Are you someone who genuinely wants to help children re-engage with their learning and feel positive about school again?
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting young people aged 10-14 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
- Support students who may struggle with confidence, behaviour, or emotional regulation
- Help children rebuild their relationship with learning, celebrating small steps and progress
- Be a calm, positive role model-someone they can look up to and trust
- Work alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals to provide consistent, compassionate support
- Assist with classroom activities, small-group work, and individual interventions tailored to students' needs
What We're Looking For
The right person will be:
- Genuinely committed to helping children re-engage and feel confident in school
- Motivated and enthusiastic, bringing energy and positivity to each day
- A strong role model, showing patience, resilience, and empathy
- A team player, able to work closely with colleagues to provide a nurturing, structured environment
- Understanding and supportive, recognising that each child's journey is unique
Experience with SEMH or SEND is helpful but not essential-we value your attitude and your ability to connect with young people above all. Full training and support will be provided.
What We Offer
- A caring, dedicated staff team who will support you from day one
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- A chance to make a meaningful impact on children's wellbeing and learning
- A positive, inclusive environment where every child-and every staff member-is valued
Why Work with The Education Specialists?
- Weekly pay through PAYE - no umbrella deductions
- Dedicated local consultant for ongoing support and feedback
- Access to TES CPD and discounted wellbeing and behaviour training through our partners
- Long-term placements with the opportunity to go permanent
- Refer-a-Friend bonus scheme
