Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We have a vacancy for a highly motivated and effective Site Manager to join our happy and hardworking team to help provide a healthy and safe environment for our children.

We are looking for someone who can provide an excellent safety management, cleaning, repair and routine maintenance service at our school, oversee the safe use of our site and liaise with staff and contractors. We are a large junior school with eighteen classrooms and spacious grounds. We are looking for someone who will take pride in maintaining our whole site to ensure it is a welcoming environment where all our children can learn.

As we are currently in the procurement stage of a DfE School Rebuilding Programme, our new Site Manager will also be able to work with school staff, governors, the DfE team and their appointed contractors to plan and implement incredibly exciting plans for our school.

Previous relevant experience in a school or similar environment would be an advantage, but full induction and ongoing training will be provided by Hampshire’s Caretaking Support Services to new members of our team. We also hope to arrange a handover from our current Site Manager to ensure smooth transfer of responsibility.

* Do you have a good working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements?

* Do you have a good range of basic DIY skills?

* Are you self-motivated and willing to learn?

* Do you have high expectations of yourself and others?

Our vacancy is for 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year to include term time with holiday entitlement during school holidays starting at 24 working days plus bank holidays and increasing to 27 days after 5 years HCC employment.

Our Site Manager’s core hours (during term time) are from 6:00am to 9:45am and 2:45pm to 6:30pm (6pm finish on Fridays).

This position would suit:

• One person working 37 hours as split shifts shown above; or
• Two people working 18.75 hours each - one person working the morning shift and one the afternoon shift shown above; or
• One person working 32 hours 6:00am to 12:30pm as we can make arrangements for a caretaker to complete the security checks at the end of the day

During school holidays, working hours can be altered, by agreement with the Headteacher, to suit completion of periodic cleaning and maintenance tasks.
