Summary
Role Description
West Lancashire College is a medium sized further education college based in Skelmersdale. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated person to provide support in maths and English GCSE and Functional Skills classes to learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The aim of the position is to enable our 16-18 and adult learners to make excellent progress in English and maths, maximise their achievement and move positively forward with their lives, independence and employment.
The successful candidate will be required to maintain notes demonstrating the progress of learners they support and also assist with exam support and support in the college's learner zone.
This post is 35 hours over 5 days. The post is term time only - salary £25,283 per annum pro rata (0.83).
Hours/days and times are:
Monday 09:00 - 16:30 with ¾ hour lunch (6.75 hours)
Tuesday 09:00 - 17:00 and 18:00 - 20:00 evening class maths with ¾ hour lunch and 17:00 - 18:00 break (7.25 plus 2 hours)
Wednesday 09:00 - 15.30 with ¾ hour lunch (5.75 hours)
Thursday 09:00 - 16.15 with ¾ hour lunch (6.5 hours)
Friday 09:00 - 15:00 with ¾ hour lunch (5.25 hours)
The successful applicant will have grade 4 or above in GCSE math and English (or equivalent) and qualifications/experience of supporting learners in education, the health care sector or other relevant field.
