Summary
Seddon(Plant & Engineers) Ltd are premier suppliers of machinery, spare parts and engines and battery driven products to the Tool Hire, Construction and Groundcare Industries, nationwide.
We have a vacancy at our Normanton Depot for an experienced Service Engineer to join our workshop team.
Experience in the service and repair of small petrol and diesel engines, groundcare and construction machinery is essential to any individual applying for this position.
Job Description
Undertake the service, repair and fault diagnosis of groundcare and construction machinery along with the power source whether petrol, diesel or battery.
Operate in an efficient and productive manner ensuring high standards of workmanship at all times.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Service & repair of engine and battery driven machinery.
• Occasional site visits when required.
• Conduct pre-delivery inspection of new equipment.
• Assist in the assembly of our own branded engine powered equipment.
• Effectively use suppliers part identification systems (web based).
• Report repair, service and general activity on reporting systems in a timely manner.
• Always observe health & safety requirements and ensure any workshop equipment used is maintained to the highest standards.
• Participate in developing and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers. Support other depots when required.
• Attend training courses as and when required. Sometimes offsite.
• Be prepared to assist in the office-based environment as required.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with picking depot orders as and when required.
• Pre delivery inspection of machines as and when required.
• Ability to lift reasonably heavy loads.
• Be willing to undergo product and systems training as required.
Full clean driving licence is required.
