Summary

Clinical Casework The timetable and job planning will be carried out with the Medical Director, bearing in mind the requirements of the organisation. A formal job plan will be agreed between the post-holder and Medical Director, three months after commencing the post, and reviewed at least annually thereafter, as part of the appraisal process. Job Title Specialty Doctor in Paediatrics (ST4 +) Reports to Medical Director Direct reports None Level Specialty Doctor Location Tadworth, Surrey Salary £67,275 - £76,219 per annum, (depending on experience and inclusive of London weighting, pro rata for part time) Hours of Work 37.5hrs per week Working Pattern Monday to Friday, 09:00 17:00 With no obligatory Out of Hours cover. Hybrid Working Not applicable for this role. DBS Enhanced with Childrens & Adults Barred List You may be required to work across our service areas, either in The Childrens Trust School or in Children and Family Services. Responsibilities may include: Contributing to the admission of all new patients and providing regular medical support in consultation with the childs consultant. Day to day supervision of the children, attending regular unit meetings, arranging investigations, writing admission and discharge summaries. Managing clinical cases with the support, and under the direction, of the consultant. Medical Ward rounds, phlebotomy, tracheostomy and gastrostomy button changes, drug charts and reports. Attending clinics Psychiatry, neurology, orthopaedic, audiology, ophthalmology, dental, splint/brace, feeding, and botulinum toxin injection. Devising emergency protocols. Serve as a Member of the Emergency Response Team. Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time. Medical Team Support and participate at the weekly medical team meetings. Participate in arrangements, as required by the Medical Director, e.g. timely submission of annual leave requests, study leave, etc. Attend multi-disciplinary meetings, teaching sessions and journal clubs. Participate in service development, e.g. development of policies and protocols, digitalisation of services, e.g. medical charts. Research, Audit & Clinical Governance To participate fully in the investigation of complaints, clinical incidents and near misses in line with The Childrens Trusts policies, using IRAR (online incident reporting system). To work within the operational policies, procedures and protocols relating to The Childrens Trust. To actively participate in annual appraisal, supervision, and the job plan review process. To maintain clinical CPD activity and participate in the Revalidation process. To participate in clinical governance activities. Interest in research activity will be encouraged, and protected time allocated for participation if required. Education and Training To provide guidance and support to immediate medical and multi-disciplinary team colleagues, and the wider service where appropriate. To participate in orientation and induction for new medical staff as appropriate. Represent the Medical Team and participate in organisation-wide activity as appropriate.
