SEN Teaching Assistant – Long Eaton
Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Immediate Start

TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with a caring and inclusive primary school in Long Eaton, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately after half term.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a genuine difference in their learning and development. You’ll become a key part of a supportive team committed to helping every child reach their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Your day-to-day duties will include:
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, adapting your approach to meet individual needs
• Assisting with differentiated learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive self-esteem in every child you support
• Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
• Promoting a calm, safe and inclusive environment where all children feel valued and supported
• Building positive relationships with children, staff and parents to ensure consistent and effective communication

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN or additional learning needs (essential)
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)
• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach to supporting children with varying needs
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management and inclusive education
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers and succeed in their learning

Driving is preferred but not essential — what matters most is your commitment, compassion, and enthusiasm for helping young learners thrive.

Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you’re paying the right level of TAX and National Insurance and there’s no messing around with admin charges coming out of your hard earned cash.

If you are interested in this position, then click ‘APPLY NOW’ and I will be in touch regarding this fantastic opportunity.
