The Role

As Head of Marketing at M&I, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of one of the most dynamic event portfolios in the global MICE sector. You’ll lead a talented team to deliver strategic, high-impact marketing that drives measurable growth, lead generation, and brand visibility across our established and emerging markets.

You'll report directly to our Director of Marketing, Worldwide Events.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that drives growth in target markets
- Translate company-wide commercial goals into measurable marketing plans with clear ROI metrics.
- Partner closely with our commercial and operational teams to align marketing with pipeline objectives, event attendance targets, and brand positioning.
- Identify and capitalise on new market opportunities, building brand presence and community engagement in new regions.
- Drive the successful launch and positioning strategy of new events.

Performance Marketing & Campaign Management

- Lead on the design and execution of integrated campaigns.
- Leverage analytics and insights to optimise performance.
- Oversee segmentation, audience profiling, and automation strategies.

Brand & Creative Leadership

- Champion the M&I brand, ensuring it reflects innovation, quality, and leadership.
- Oversee brand consistency and creative quality across all touchpoints.
- Collaborate with the Head of Design, creative team and external agency resources to develop brand storytelling.

Team & Budget Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team.
- Manage departmental budgets effectively.
- Establish clear KPIs, performance dashboards, and reporting structures.

Market Intelligence & Insights

- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and maintain a leading edge.
- Use insight-led marketing to shape strategic decisions and strengthen our position in the global events landscape.

Requirements

We’re looking for candidates who meet the essential criteria below and bring additional strengths that elevate the team.

- Proven experience in a senior marketing role, ideally within B2B events, travel, hospitality, or media. Previous experience as a Head of Department.
- Demonstrated success in delivering growth-focused and lead-generating marketing strategies.
- Strong understanding of performance marketing, CRM, automation, and digital acquisition tactics.
- Commercially minded with the ability to link marketing performance directly to business outcomes.
- Excellent project management, budget management, and prioritisation skills.
- Confident team leader with experience coaching and developing others.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with creative flair and meticulous attention to detail.
- Industry knowledge of the global MICE, travel, and events landscape is a strong advantage.

- Basic salary of £50,000 to £55,000, depending on experience
