We are seeking enthusiastic clerical staff to join our Health Records Department.

The busy Department is responsible for the day to day management of paper Health Records that are held in storage. In conjunction with deployment of the Trusts Electronic Patient Records, paper records are also being scanned into a digital format.

The Health Records Team will play a crucial role in supporting this digitisation programme. Records will be indexed on a database before being scanned into an electronic document management system as digital images.

The post will require you to use correct manual handling techniques to move boxes of records around the department. Various lifting aids will be used and training will be provided in their use. You will also have use of several IT systems to facilitate the conversion of paper records into the electronic document management database.

Standard records management processes will also be carried out such as tracking, retrieval, appraisal, culling and confidential destruction. The Health Records Team will also provide support to the Subject Access Team by way of printing and copying records for the purposes of dealing with Service User Information Rights requests.

You must be reliable with a flexible attitude to work and have the ability to work closely with other Team members.

The successful applicants will be based at Astra Business Centre but may also be required to work in sites throughout the Trust.

LSCFT values diversity and inclusion, recognising that talent from varied backgrounds creates a flexible, creative, and effective workforce. We actively challenge discrimination and welcome applications from all, regardless of age, disability (including those with experience of accessing or caring for someone who has accessed mental health or learning disability services), ethnicity, gender, religion, belief, or sexual orientation.

Our aim is to reflect the communities we serve, so we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups. If you’d like to discuss your application, please ask.

We also welcome individuals with lived experience relevant to the role or service area, as your insight brings authenticity to our services.

LSCFT support flexible working, we believe that a positive work/life balance benefits NHS employees through improved health and wellbeing. We would consider working patterns such as term time, part time, compressed hours and flexi-time.

Please see attached the job description and person specification for more information about this role.
