Job Description
Swindon Borough Council is seeking a Child Protection Conference Note Taker to join the Children’s Services directorate within Quality Assurance & Review. This temporary role will provide essential administrative and clerical support while new staff are being recruited.

Key Responsibilities:

Attend Child Protection Conferences and take notes directly on a laptop.

Compile and produce clear, accurate, and agreed records of conferences for circulation within Children’s Services, external agencies, and families, within procedural deadlines.

Transcribe notes to ensure a precise record of discussions and decisions.

Provide clerical and administrative support to Independent Reviewing Officers and the Team Manager.

Maintain confidentiality of client information, ensuring correspondence is appropriately handled and labelled.

Contribute to effective and efficient service delivery in line with Local Safeguarding Children’s Board priorities, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

Strong typing and transcription skills with attention to detail.

Ability to produce clear and accurate written records under time constraints.

Experience in administrative or clerical roles, ideally within social care or safeguarding settings.

Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding principles.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
