We are currently recruiting an experienced Joiner to join the Property Maintenance team. As a Joiner at Gentoo, you will carry out all installations, repairs and maintenance work required and all other joinery-related duties, including general joinery repairs, preservation work, and installation of kitchens & doors in our customers’ homes in the city of Sunderland.
In this role, you will provide excellent customer service, working in our customers’ homes. You will use your communication skills and liaise effectively with a wide range of teams and colleagues within Gentoo, external stakeholders and have the ability to build and maintain honest and open relationships.
A full UK driver’s licence is required for this position.
The position is subject to a basic DBS arranged for and funded by Gentoo.
Key responsibilities will include:Carry out all installations, repairs and maintenance work required and all other joinery-related duties, including general joinery repairs, preservation work, and installation of kitchens & doors in our customers’ homes in an efficient and timely manner.Ensure that RAMS, Method Statements, Product Information and COSHH are adhered to and followed.
Liaise with the designated Repairs Manager or Supervisor regarding the status of work and liaise with other trades as required.
Ensure appropriate parts and materials are available for jobs, with accountability for van-based stock and replenishment.
The Group operate an Emergency Out of Hours Service, which you may be required to work on a rota basis as and when required.
What we are looking for:
A full UK Driving Licence is essential.It is essential you have served a recognised (Indentured) craft apprenticeship in Joinery Or; City & Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in Joinery Or; NVQ level 3 in Joinery.
Demonstrable experience in a similar role carrying out joinery tasks.
Awareness of specific access equipment to be used at height and confined spaces, and demonstrate an aptitude for application.
Ability to demonstrate competency in carrying out minor non-trade specific tasks, including minor plaster patch repairs, tiling, brickwork, plumbing & painting.
You can demonstrate competence in the use of handheld IT systems.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health & Safety Regulations.
Experience in delivering excellent service in a customer-facing environment.
