Summary

STEP is the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning. We work to improve public understanding of the issues families face in this area and promote education and high professional standards among our members.

The Events Team

A team of qualified events professionals specialising in delivering events for Trust & Estates practitioners across the world.

About the team:
• A team of eight, including the Head of Events, three event managers, two coordinators (this role being one of them), one event executive and an administrator.
• The team have a great deal of experience working internationally with STEP branch committees, members, speakers, sponsors and suppliers.
• The team deliver up to 30 events a year, from webinars to multi-day international conferences, which are forums for topical industry discussion by senior practitioners and academics.
• In addition, the team offer marketing and registration support for smaller branch events.

• Keeping up to date and continued professional development (CPD), is what our members expect from us. You can help ensure that our events and CPD continue to meet member and employer needs, are of high quality, and are of a consistent standard.
• Through offering thought leadership events, we can demonstrate STEP’s capability and credibility, and create demand for new members.
• Our events strengthen our position in the core markets in which we operate and allow us the opportunity to enter new jurisdictions that represent the greatest opportunities for STEP to add value and grow, always ensuring members meet and are committed to our standards.
• You can assist STEP to deliver high quality events, which generate a surplus to reinvest in members, reducing reliance on membership subscriptions, to ensure the long-term security and sustainability of the organisation.
Principal Accountabilities & Standards

To deliver STEP’s annual webinar programme as well as in-person events as and when required.
Main Duties & Responsibilities

• To create detailed event plans to include timelines, and the coordination of these across departments.
• To work closely with other departments who are responsible for building the business case and content production for STEP’s webinar portfolio.
• To build and maintain events on registration platform (CVENT) and to coordinate events on virtual platform (Zoom).
• To source and/or manage suppliers, including venues and AV providers.
• To manage relationships with key stakeholders to support event creation and delivery.
• To maintain budgets for events.
• To coordinate sponsor contract delivery and social venue logistics.
• To work closely with the Marketing Team who are responsible for driving demand.
• To create new and build on existing relationships with sponsors, partner organisations and suppliers to obtain maximum value for money, revenue generation and customer satisfaction.
• To measure and report upon event performance.
• To stay updated with industry trends and best practices to enhance content quality and engagement.
• Undertaking other duties, as appropriate to the post, as delegated by the Event Manager and Head of Events
