Finance and Payroll Assistant
Location: Dundee
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £25,000-£30,000 depending on experience

About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance and Payroll Assistant to join our team in Dundee. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, data, and processes, and wants to play a key role in supporting both payroll and finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Payroll Support: Gather and validate payroll data (hours worked, overtime, absences, new starters and leavers) for submission to our outsourced payroll provider. Ensure accuracy and respond to employee queries.
• Timesheet Management: Review and process manual timesheets, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate records.
• Finance Team Support: Assist with accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and provide cover during peak periods.
• Data Input & Reconciliation: Enter financial data accurately, perform reconciliations, and investigate variances.
• Reporting & Administration: Prepare spreadsheets, compile data for management reports, and maintain proper documentation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with managers and other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial information flow.
What We’re Looking For
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with data.
• Ability to manage and reconcile large volumes of information accurately.
• Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Understanding of payroll processes or willingness to learn.
Desirable:
• Previous experience in finance or accounting.
• Familiarity with payroll data preparation and timesheet processes.
• Knowledge of accounting systems or ERP software.
Personal Attributes:
• High integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive data.
• Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently.
