Location: Independent specialist school in Surrey
We are a newly established independent specialist school set in the beautiful Surrey Hills, dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 7-16 with autism and associated social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our mission is to create a safe, inspiring environment where every learner can thrive academically and personally.
As Head of Education, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our school. You will:
- Lead the development of outstanding teaching and learning across all phases.
- Design and implement a progressive, sequenced whole-school curriculum.
- Line manage and inspire teaching and subject staff, embedding inclusive strategies.
- Drive assessment, self-evaluation, and inspection readiness.
- Foster a collaborative, reflective, and high-performing staff culture.
We're looking for a dynamic leader who is passionate about transforming lives through education. You will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status and a proven track record of improving teaching quality and pupil outcomes.
- Experience in curriculum design, assessment, and school improvement (middle leadership essential; senior leadership desirable).
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Understanding of autism and EHCP processes (advantageous but not essential).
- A supportive, inclusive environment where innovation is encouraged.
- Continuous professional development and career progression opportunities.
- Collaboration across a network of specialist SEN schools.
- Free daily shuttle from Dorking Station.
