Summary
The post will be attached to the surgical teams. The post holder you will supervise other junior staff and allied health professionals working on the team and be responsible through them for the day-to-day care of the patients. There is a requirement to attend handovers and ward rounds, take part in outpatient clinics and participate at operating sessions, in addition to performing varying surgical procedures, both emergency and elective. The post holder will participate in a 1 in 9 on-call rota. The post holder is expected to attend all department clinic meetings which include: Teaching ward round(s) Clinical audit Journal club (monthly) Pathology meeting (monthly) Radiology meeting (weekly) In addition, the post holder is encouraged to attend the week TPN meeting and the monthly / bi-monthly specials clinics: Oesophageal atresia (TOF) clinic Gastro-oesophageal reflux (GOR) clinic Vascular clinic (optional held by Plastic surgery) Ano-rectal malformation clinic Congenital diaphragmatic hernia clinic Hirschsprungs disease and DSD clinic
