About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Adults Care and Support Team on a temporary basis. This role is based in Bodmin, with regular community visits across the East Locality, including Tintagel, Camelford, Wadebridge, and Rock.
You will carry out statutory social work functions including assessments, support planning, reviews, and safeguarding work. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently, managing their own caseload, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Undertake adult social care assessments, support plans and reviews.
• Carry out safeguarding enquiries in line with statutory duties.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Adult Social Care and external partners.
• Maintain clear and accurate written records.
• Conduct home visits and community-based assessments as required.
• Attend the team day every Wednesday.
• Complete remote/home-based work as appropriate (write-ups can be completed from home).
Essential Skills & Experience
• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar Adults Social Care role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Confident using computers, case management systems, and Microsoft Teams.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Must be a car user, able to travel within the locality for face-to-face assessments.
• Must live within a reasonable commuting distance to undertake community visits as required.
Additional Information
• Minimal expectation of two days per week working within the locality area, depending on work arrangements and visit requirements.
• Full-time hours with no fixed onsite days beyond the required Wednesday team day.
