Summary

Early Years Practitioner
Fox Covert Early Years Centre

Salary: £29,173 - £33,287
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks

Fox Covert Early Years is a large, busy setting, with capacity for 85 children at any one time, attending various patterns of attendance between 8am and 6pm, 52 weeks per year.

Our staff team is friendly, supportive, energetic and passionate about our Froebelian approaches. Play environments are natural, warm and welcoming, with nurturing and richly resourced spaces, indoors and out. We recognise all children as curious, capable learners, valuing collaboration, participation and engagement with all stakeholders. Through time, our setting has embedded a positive Growth Mindset ethos, committed to continuous professional learning that in turn supports our learners to be the best they can.

As a standalone setting, our establishment is situated within a campus alongside two Primary Schools, where two Nursery Early Years Practitioners support both Primary One classes. We are dedicated and active participants within our Learning Community and beyond.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated Early Years Practitioners to join us on a permanent basis. We are searching for people who can demonstrate passion, inquiry, energy and commitment, striving to offer consistently high-quality learning and play opportunities. Our team is friendly, welcoming and cheerful and we work together, towards providing happy and safe experiences for all our families.

These positions are full time, 36 hours per week, and the successful candidates will be required to work shift patterns within the setting, between the hours of 07.45hrs and 18.15hrs, Monday-Friday, with an average of one or two late shifts per 36-hour week.

Please note - You must ensure that you have the required qualification(s) before you apply, so please refer to the attached documentation for requirements, or we will be unable to consider your application.

For further information or to discuss the post/s, please contact Fox Covert Early Years on 0131 339 8625.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we're bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.

To help achieve this, we're changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.

You can find out more on Our Behaviours web page Our">https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/work-us/behaviours">Our Behaviours - The City of Edinburgh Council

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
