Summary
We are supporting an established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across sectors including care homes, automotive showrooms/centres, hotels, commercial buildings, and complex refurbishments. With projects typically valued up to £18 million, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Site Manager on a permanent basis to support their growing pipeline.
Senior Site Manager Role Overview
As Senior Site Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of a technically involved project, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-standard construction. You will manage subcontractor coordination, programme, site logistics, quality, and maintain clear communication with the wider project team.
Senior Site Manager Key Responsibilities
•
Lead on-site operations on new build, refurbishment, or cut-and-carve schemes within the care, automotive, or hospitality sectors.
•
Manage subcontractors, sequencing, and site resources to keep the project progressing to programme.
•
Maintain exceptional health & safety compliance, including RAMS, inductions, and toolbox talks.
•
Oversee workmanship and technical quality throughout the project lifecycle.
•
Produce site reporting, including progress updates, diaries, and documentation.
•
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
•
Support junior team members with guidance and leadership.
Senior Site Manager Experience & Requirements
•
Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager on care homes, automotive facilities, hotels, or similar commercial projects.
•
Strong background in managing technically challenging new builds or refurbishment works.
•
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
•
Solid understanding of construction processes and H&S regulations.
•
SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, and First Aid are essential.
•
Proficient with IT and site management software.
