Are you an exceptional linguist, an inspiring classroom practitioner, and a visionary curriculum thinker?
A vibrant and ambitious secondary school in Hounslow is seeking a Curriculum Leader for MFL (Spanish) to champion excellence, enrich language learning, and elevate outcomes across the department.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an aspiring middle leader or an experienced teacher ready to shape an exciting, modern MFL curriculum. You will have the autonomy to innovate, the freedom to design, and the support of a senior leadership team deeply committed to raising achievement and nurturing talent.
We are looking for someone who brings ambition, academic rigour, cultural passion, and the drive to instil a love of Spanish language and Hispanic culture in every learner. You will be at the forefront of curriculum development, modelling exceptional practice and guiding colleagues to deliver lessons that are inspiring, challenging, and rooted in high expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the strategic development and implementation of the Spanish curriculum across KS3–KS4.
• Drive outstanding teaching and learning through effective modelling, coaching, and professional development.
• Develop high-quality, knowledge-rich schemes of work that empower students to communicate confidently in Spanish.
• Oversee assessment structures, data analysis, and intervention strategies to raise attainment.
• Support colleagues in delivering consistent, engaging, and well-sequenced MFL lessons.
• Promote cultural understanding and global citizenship through enrichment, trips, and cross-curricular opportunities.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement and uphold the school’s ethos of aspiration and excellence.
What the School Offers
• A supportive leadership team committed to nurturing strong middle leaders.
• Opportunities to enhance cultural capital through clubs, events, and international experiences.
• High levels of student engagement and a behaviour culture built on respect and ambition.
• Access to bespoke CPD and leadership development pathways.
• A collaborative staff community that values innovation, creativity, and professional growth.
• A diverse and vibrant environment where languages and cultural identity are celebrated.
Who We’re Looking For
• A specialist in Spanish with excellent linguistic and cultural knowledge.
• A creative, reflective practitioner with a track record of inspiring high achievement.
• A teacher who brings energy, clarity, and purpose to curriculum and classroom practice.
• Someone ready to lead, influence, and contribute to a thriving MFL department.
• A professional who believes in the transformative power of language learning.
If you are ready to lead with passion, champion the Spanish curriculum, and inspire the next generation of linguists, we want to hear from you.
