Summary
Interview Date: 17 December 2025
Join us as a People Development Advisor within the Organisation & People Development (OPD) team at a moment of positive change. This post provides operational support to our staff learning offer, coordinating the University’s training calendar, managing timetabling and bookings, and helping maintain our learning platforms so programmes run smoothly.
You’ll also deliver engaging training sessions and support the creation of learning materials. You’ll work closely with your OPD Consultant teammates and colleagues in other teams . This post is ideal for someone who enjoys organising, supporting delivery, working with digital tools, facilitating training, and helping colleagues grow and develop across the University.
We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another. With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.
About You
You bring experience supporting learning activity through well-organised coordination, clear communication, and confident facilitation. You may come from higher education or another sector; what matters is your ability to help create an engaging development experience. When we say “equivalent experience,” we mean it - and we encourage you to explain how your background aligns, even if your qualifications take a different route.
You enjoy being in front of people and delivering innovative learning experiences. You’re equally comfortable managing schedules, maintaining learning platforms, using digital tools, and supporting the rollout of development programmes. You work collaboratively and enjoy contributing to a smooth, positive staff development experience for colleagues.
