Salary: From £29,000, Dependant on experience
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 45 hours over 5 days each week. Shifts will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

About the Role: Our Sous Chefs work with the Head Chef to arrange the kitchen rota, order stock and ensure that food is prepared to a high standard by the kitchen team. They help supervise and train the kitchen team including line chefs and kitchen porters. All our Chefs help prepare meals and snacks to order throughout the day, producing consistently well presented, high quality and tasty food from our menu and special boards. The Sous Chef is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and ensuring food is prepared and stored in accordance with food safety regulations. This role is key to ensuring that we can provide the quality food service that our guests expect, providing them with another option to self-catering and allowing them to spend more precious time with family and friends.
Typical duties and responsibilities include:
• Supervising and training the kitchen team
• Managing inventory and ordering supplies
• Preparing and producing food to order according to recipe and guest orders
• Ensuring all orders leaving the kitchen are plated and presented according to company standards
• Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met by the kitchen team
• Ensuring food products are stored properly
About the Person: We are looking for someone with experience as a sous-chef or similar and a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. The ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a busy kitchen is essential. To be successful in this role you will need strong organisational skills and good leadership skills. You will need to be enthusiastic, friendly and passionate about food.

Skills and experience required:
• Experience as a sous-chef or similar role
• A commitment to producing consistent and excellent quality food
• Knowledge of cost and stock control
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards in catering
• Knowledge of food allergies and dietary restrictions
• Good organisational, communication and leadership skills
