We are seeking an experienced Paediatric SLT to support a Local Authority by carrying out specialist communication assessments for children undergoing the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process. You will provide clear, outcome-focused EHCP advice and work closely with schools, families, BCIT, and the SEN Assessment Team to support high-quality decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete statutory paediatric communication assessments for EHCNAs.
- Provide timely, clear, and measurable EHCP advice.
- Liaise with schools, families, BCIT and LA professionals.
- Contribute to annual reviews where required.
- Maintain accurate clinical notes and comply with safeguarding standards.
Requirements:
- BSc/MSc in Speech and Language Therapy.
- HCPC registration (essential).
- Minimum 2 years' paediatric SLT experience.
- Experience supporting children with SEND and contributing to EHCPs.
- Strong assessment, report writing, and communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Professional indemnity & public liability insurance.
Desirable:
- RCSLT membership.
- Experience in early years, mainstream or specialist education settings.
- Knowledge of autism, speech sound disorders, AAC or language disorder.
- Experience delivering training to schools or families.
Additional Information:
- Consultancy position with flexible working.
- Travel to local schools/settings may be required.
- All safeguarding and vetting checks must be completed prior to starting.
