Summary
Team manager role within the Education, participation and pupil support team, leading the attendance and children out of school team across Cheshire East.
Exciting opportunity to lead the attendance and children out of school team, across Cheshire East.
Leading a busy team to implement the local authority responsibilities for children out of school due to absence, elective home education or missing education.
Agile working between our office base in Delamere House in Crewe, home and Cheshire East schools.
IT equipment to support agile working.
The postholder directly manages 5 vulnerable pupil leads across Cheshire East, who support a team of over 20 people.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and supporting the decision making around penalty notices and prosecutions.
Ensuring the team are delivering the expected statutory responsibilities in DFE Working together to improve attendance guidance.
Management oversight of allocation, case work and closure with positive outcomes.
Connecting with multi-agency partners to ensure attendance is everyone's business and make education a protective factor.
Driving change around attendance for children and young people who are vulnerable.
