Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a passionate Lead Practitioner/Teacher to establish and lead high-quality teaching and learning, supporting pupils with a range of educational needs to thrive and achieve their full potential. You will model best practice, mentor staff, and help create an inclusive, supportive, and aspirational environment for both pupils and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and model outstanding teaching and learning across the EYFS and Primary phases, ensuring high expectations and inclusive practice for all pupils.
• Support the strategic development and growth of the Satellite Centre, aligning curriculum and culture with the main Arbour Vale School site.
• Coach, mentor, and support staff to develop teaching expertise and confidence in delivering high-quality SEND provision.
• Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and multi-agency partners to promote holistic pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Contribute to self-evaluation, quality assurance, and improvement planning to drive continuous development across the centre.

Key Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and substantial experience of teaching pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire others, fostering a culture of collaboration, reflection and professional growth.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS and Primary curriculum and how to adapt it effectively for diverse learning needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals.
• A passionate commitment to inclusive education, safeguarding, and the ethos and values of Arbour Vale School and OHC&AT.
