Job Description
A vacancy has arisen within site services for a Scaffolder. The purpose of the post is to provide a scaffolding service safely and efficiently in line with NASC SG.4 and TG20 guidelines..
Main responsibilities:
• Carry out scaffold operations in accordance with planned maintenance activities
• Carry out other non-trade tasks as identified by the project supervisor
• Responsible for safe and effective handover of safe working platform/ scaffold, liaising with customers before and after the erection of safe working platform giving technical advice on practicalities of scaffold access
• Carry out safe and effective weekly inspections, after alterations and adverse weather of safe working platform/scaffold and substantiate any changes required
• Identify and report common equipment performance issues
• Identify areas/opportunities for improvement in processes, working practice, equipment utilisation, etc., offering solutions where appropriate
• Mentor apprenticeship development
• Keep up to date with relevant scaffolding guidelines i.e., TG20, SG4 and BSEN 12811
• Carry out 6 monthly statutory ladder inspections
• Advise authorised person working at height on specialist scaffolding issues
• Perform the responsibilities of Authorisations relevant to post
Aptitudes and experience:
• CISRS for Scaffolding
• Relevant scaffolding experience
• Able to work effectively as part of a team as well as under own initiative
• Have a pro active and flexible approach to work
• Experience of permit system, risk assessment & method statements
• Knowledgeable and experienced in safe systems of work
• Driving Licence an advantage
