We are looking to welcome a skilled general maintenance person to lead the facilities upkeep in our modern, purpose built care home in Peterborough.
The schedule is for 40 hours a week, five days, 8:00am - 4:00pm, and the hourly rate is £14.26.
The role covers a wide range of tasks including:
Equipment repairs and servicing (vacuum cleaners, wheelchairs etc.)
Minor electrical works - replacing light fittings etc.
Repairs and improvements to equipment and facilities
Plumbing repairs, leaks, blockages, installing new sanitary ware, etc. Refitting bathrooms
Installing & repairing fixtures and fittings (curtain tracks, door furniture etc.)
Painting and decorating
You'll have worked in a care setting before with at least one year of experience, and if you have class 1 business insurance on your vehicle for occasional work errands, that would be an advantage.
In addition to being a hands-on role, you'll be responsible for ensuring our building is compliant with all necessary checks and audits, so your organisational and administrative skills need to be excellent too.
You'll work closely with the home management, care teams and residents, so in addition to being a good administrator, and an excellent practical person, a trainer and supporter to the team, you'll enjoy being around people and working as part of a team.
