Summary

We are looking for a Senior Teaching Aide (STA) to join our busy team, where our committed workforce is dedicated to empowering and enabling students to achieve. This role offers the chance to take on greater responsibility while making a significant difference in the development of students.

Key Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates the mentality that students can and do achieve.
• To deputise for the lecturer, and in their absence plan and deliver learning activities.
• Demonstrate commitment to collaborative and cooperative working by effectively managing Learning Support Assistants in the absence of the lecturer / when running a session.
• Support safe, consistent and predictable environments.
• To ensure all members of the teaching team consistently support health and wellbeing of learners and that all staff follow the guidelines for individual support, care needs and medical interventions.

Key Requirements:
• Experience of working within a team.
• Experience of working with or caring for children or adults who have barriers to learning and/or special educational needs.
• Must hold level 2 Maths and Level 2 English qualifications or be willing to enrol on a functional skills course within your first year of employment and complete the course within 2 years.
• Able to demonstrate a commitment to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
• Able to contribute to the planning, implementation and record keeping of sessions by evaluating & monitoring student progress, initiating own suggestions, creating resources, interpreting and putting into practice session plans, guidelines and procedures
