Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely service to clients. This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries. The Driver will play a crucial part in maintaining the company's reputation for punctuality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Safely operate company vehicles, including flatbed lorries, for local and regional deliveries
Load and unload goods with care, ensuring items are secure during transit
Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines and optimise fuel consumption
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or delays
Assist in warehouse activities as needed, including stock movement and inventory checks
Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies throughout all driving activities
Experience
Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver
Knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK
Experience operating flatbed vehicles or similar large transport equipment is desirable
Mechanical knowledge beneficial for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
