Summary

INTRODUCTION

Karrek Care is a new style Domiciliary Care Company for Cornwall.

Its beneficiaries are the people that would be in receipt of support services for vulnerable people, however because of an increase in the use of personal budgets referrals can be received from many different people who require domiciliary support & personal care.

JOB PURPOSE

• To provide leadership to the care staff of Karrek Care.
• To provide support in accordance with current best practices, according to policies and procedures, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the manager.
• To supervise the support services within Karrek Care in accordance with agreed standards.
• To participate in on-call duties.
• To help the managers with assessments, reviews, care planning and risk assessments on the people we support.
• To maintain skills at a high level and undertake such training and development as required to maintain best-practice.
• To oversee the running of new packages and projects with the help of managers
• To attend meetings with professionals e.g. MDT meetings
• To complete roster duties as/when required

Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

• Ensure people supported are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
• To ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service, supervising them under the direction of the manager.
• Conducting spot checks and medication competency
• Overseeing medication/ ordering prescriptions/ prompting medication reviews and ensuring up to date contingency plan in place
• Regular written formal and informal debrief meeting with managers


Working with others

• Develop effective working relationships with other employees within Karrek Care.
• Work in cooperation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to maximise people supported’s level of care.

Leading by example

• Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
• To always set a good example in every aspect of the role.

Personal Responsibilities

• Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by the management.
