Summary

Role Overview:
We are seeking a committed, empathetic, and reliable part-time Mentor to join our team. You will be working one-to-one with a young person, supporting them to develop social skills, build confidence, and engage in activities that support their emotional, physical, and cognitive development. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in a young person’s life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one support tailored to the individual needs of the young person.
• Encourage social interaction, independence, and participation in community-based activities.
• Support communication needs, including use of alternative or augmentative methods if required.
• Maintain clear, accurate records and communicate regularly with the Team Leader.
• Ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of the young person at all times.
• Develop trusting relationships with mentees to encourage open communication and personal growth.
• Create engaging activities that promote learning and personal development.
• Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions and progress reports
Essential Requirements:
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Must have access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
• Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and positive in a variety of situations.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (funded by the company if not already held).
Desirable:
• Knowledge or experience in SEN (Special Educational Needs), autism, or behavioural support.
• Relevant qualifications in health and social care, education, or youth work.
