We're using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives.

DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support and empower millions of people.

The scale of what we do is extraordinary, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Enterprise Scale Software Deployment and Desktop Management.
  • Testing infrastructure products, preparing test scripts and reports.
  • Analysing defects and root cause analysis.
  • Managing pre-prod, dev and test environments.

You and your role

You'll be making sure our desktop services run smoothly and securely. You'll take ownership of Windows 11 builds and Evergreen updates, ensuring everything integrates seamlessly. You'll design and implement automation scripts to make processes faster and more efficient and you'll keep a close eye on changes, so nothing goes into production with defects.

You'll work with technologies like Intune, Autopilot, Microsoft Configuration Manager, WSUS and Windows 365, as well as tools like Citrix, Ivanti and Zscaler. Expect to re-engineer solutions, provide technical assurance and support virtual machines using Hyper-V. You'll also manage software distribution, encryption with BitLocker and configuration policies across our Windows Enterprise environment.

If you enjoy solving problems, improving systems and working with modern tech to deliver a secure and flexible desktop experience, this role is for you.
