Summary

Neway International have a vacancy for an Operational Technician to join the Building Services & Maintenance team based with Liverpool Council.

Start Date: 08 December 2025, initially for a 3 month contract that is likely to be extended.

Hours per Week: 35

Job Purpose
Liverpool City Council is seeking a Grade 5 Operational Technician to join the Building Services & Maintenance team. This role supports Occupational Therapists and other health professionals by delivering timely adaptations for people with disabilities. The aim is to prevent hospital admissions, facilitate safe discharges, and contribute to intermediate care programmes.

Key Responsibilities
Complete plumbing and other works to required quality standards and timescales.

Liaise with assessment staff where necessary to ensure effective service delivery.

Ensure all works comply with legislation, health and safety requirements, and council policies.

Deliver a customer-focused service, identifying and reporting defective materials and undertaking remedial work.

Work collaboratively with allied health and social care professionals as part of an integrated team.

Manage and maintain responsibility for tools, equipment, and materials.

Set out construction works as directed, ensuring specifications are met.

Contribute to equality, diversity, and inclusion in service delivery.

Undertake supervision and personal development in line with business unit requirements.

Be available to work across city-wide locations, with potential requirements for extended service hours (7-day or 8am–8pm coverage).

Requirements
Experience in plumbing and building services maintenance.

Ability to work to specifications and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.

Strong customer service focus.

Knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance standards.

Willingness to work flexibly across multiple sites within Liverpool.
