We’re on the lookout for caring and dedicated individuals to join us as Children’s Residential Workers. This is your chance to be a part of something brand new and help create a nurturing environment where vulnerable children and young people can thrive.

We are looking for Relief Children’s Residential Workers for the following –

6 x Relief Children’s Residential Workers
• Working hours: 10:00am – 11:00pm, which may include sleep-in shifts
• Waking nights – 10:30pm-10:30am.

• Support to cover annual leave, sickness absence, and additional staffing requirements

About the Role

As a Children’s Residential Worker, you’ll be part of a dedicated team responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children and young people. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help create a warm, caring, and safe home environment. You’ll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of young people by supporting them in their daily routines, encouraging their independence, and helping them achieve the goals set out in their Care and Support plans.

Your work will include helping with day-to-day activities, from preparing meals to supporting children in their education and hobbies. You'll assist in organising and participating in social and recreational activities, helping to create memorable and positive experiences. In this role, you’ll also play a key part in managing challenging behaviours, always using a trauma-informed approach that puts the needs of the child first.

This role is not just a job—it’s an opportunity to foster positive relationships, build trust, and support children in developing the skills they need for their future. You’ll also benefit from ongoing professional development and training, including specialist training in medication administration and trauma-informed care.
About you

You’re someone who genuinely cares about making a difference and brings warmth, patience, and empathy to every situation. You understand the importance of providing consistent, nurturing care and are committed to helping each child feel safe, valued, and empowered.

You thrive in a team environment and are able to work collaboratively with colleagues to provide the best care possible. You’re also confident handling challenging situations with a calm and professional approach, always keeping the child’s best interests at heart. Your ability to be flexible, patient, and responsive to the individual needs of children is essential, as is your commitment to continuous learning and development.
