Location: Exeter, Devon (roles also available in Taunton, Exmouth, Torquay, Plymouth + surrounding areas)
Pay: Competitive weekly rates
Contract: Flexible, ongoing, full-time/part-time
Specialist Behaviour Support Roles with Full Team Teach Training
Velox Social Care is recruiting skilled and resilient Behaviour Support Workers to work with Children and Young People (CYP) who present emotional, social, and behavioural challenges.
These roles are ideal for individuals experienced in de-escalation, therapeutic support, or SEMH behaviours - or for those keen to develop these skills through our accredited Team Teach Level 2 training, delivered in-house.
Our aim is to support CYP in residential homes, crisis services, and community settings by providing calm, structured, and consistent support that promotes safety and emotional stability.
The Role
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will:
- Support CYP who present challenging behaviours, emotional dysregulation, or trauma-related needs
- Use positive behaviour strategies, therapeutic communication, and Team Teach techniques
- Build trusting relationships that help young people feel grounded, understood, and safe
- Follow behaviour support plans and contribute to ongoing risk assessments
- Model positive routines, emotional coping strategies, and healthy boundaries
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of incidents, progress, and daily observations
- Work both independently and as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team
- Cover a variety of shift types including long days, short days, evenings, and nights
This is a highly rewarding position where you will play a significant role in reducing behavioural incidents and helping young people develop long-term coping skills.
What You Will Gain
Full Team Teach Level 2 Training Provided
Our qualification is delivered by Velox's own accredited trainers, giving you practical, scenario-based learning in:
- De-escalation and conflict reduction
- Safe holding and interventions (where required)
- Trauma-informed behaviour support
- Maintaining personal and CYP safety
Ongoing CPD
We also provide continued training in areas such as:
- Understanding attachment
- ACEs and trauma response
- Autism and sensory needs
- Challenging behaviour
- Safeguarding and child protection
This gives every worker the confidence and tools required to work safely and therapeutically in high-pressure environments.
