We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, those from minority ethnic communities or from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds

An exciting opportunity has arisen within West Lothian Council, Housing, Customer & Building Services for two dynamic, self‑motivated and enthusiastic Void Management Officers to join our team and deliver a high‑quality service in respect of the void and letting function. This is an excellent chance to play a key role in ensuring our voids process is undertaken efficiently, through effective coordination of the void re‑let standard of properties, arranging accompanied viewings, and managing prospective sign‑up agreements for new tenants.

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Chartered Institute of Housing Level 4 qualification or equivalent, or recent relevant experience in a housing management setting

  • A sound working knowledge of housing legislation, practice, and key issues in Scottish housing

  • Experience of working in a public sector or related role, dealing directly with the public and delivering a customer‑focused service

  • Awareness of the Technical Guidance for Social Landlords regarding the Scottish Housing Quality Standards (SHQS)

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • A flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities

  • A current driving licence

In return, we offer a range of benefits including the opportunity for hybrid working, generous annual leave entitlement, participation in our Local Authority pension scheme, and ongoing training to enhance and develop your skills. You will also have access to our employee assistance programme, providing free information and support services, as well as our employee benefit platform offering discounts across a wide range of UK retailers.
