Are you passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning?
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work closely with a child experiencing emotional school-based avoidance. This unique and rewarding role involves providing both in-school and at-home support to help the pupil re-engage with learning and build confidence in attending school.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide consistent emotional and learning support to a child with school-based anxiety or avoidance.
• Work in both the school setting and the pupil’s home to create a supportive, structured learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff, pastoral leads, and external professionals to ensure a joined-up approach.
• Encourage engagement, resilience, and positive progress through creative and flexible strategies.

Essential Requirements:
• Ability to travel independently to the pupil’s home – own transport is required.
• Commitment to safeguarding and supporting children’s wellbeing.
• A caring, patient and adaptable approach to working with young people.

Desirable Experience:
• Previous experience working with children who have emotional or behavioural needs.
• Background in education, care, or youth work.
• Interest in progressing to teacher training (SCITT) or an apprenticeship – this role offers excellent experience and professional development opportunities.
